Join the CT Audubon Society as they celebrate the 26th Anniversary of Earth Fair on Saturday April 25th at their nature center, 1361 Main St. Glastonbury. This year's theme is: Bird's Eggs and Nests. Help build a 6 foot eagle's nest stick by stick or create a tiny hummingbird nest to take home. There will even be a large kid-size nest for children to climb into, a creative bird house contest as well as lots of interesting informational displays. It's sure to be a day of family fun from 10-3 p.m. Admission is free though a small donation of $3 is appreciated to help feed the animals. Come early for the opening Smudging Ceremony at 10:15, followed by The Peter Pan Players performing scenes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at 10:30. A bit later, Kasha Breau, our teacher naturalist, will be giving a close-up encounter with live birds of prey; there will also be a Snakes Alive demonstration with lots of different species of snakes. Additionally, there will be an All Creatures Parade, fun children's crafts, a May Pole Dance, live music and much more. Please call the CT Audubon Soc. at 860.633.8402 for the exact schedule. There will be a bake sale, food booths, Char Koon Pacific Rim Cuisine and more along with many earth-friendly demonstrations and environmental exhibits. There will also be continuous shuttle buses available at Glastonbury Community Church parking lot at 113 Stancliff Road and Buttonball School.
